Hello, my name is Michelle Epperly and I am a self taught Life Coach and have been doing this for about 5 years now. I thrive on helping others see the potential in their dreams and use the Law of Attraction to get the results that everyone is looking for.
So you might already have a goal or goals in mind or maybe you have forgotten what your dreams are. It is my job to teach you to define, produce and live your life to the fullest. So here we go, hang on this is going to be a bumpy, fun, happy ride!
Understanding the Law of Attraction
The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. So what ever you are saying, thinking, putting out into the universe you are attracting back to you. Think about that. Think about what you have been putting out there. Good or Bad you are attracting things, situations, people, debt, etc…. it is all coming back to you constantly. For some people that have not heard this it is a lot to swallow. So here is a little exercise for you to do and it will help you understand just how strong this Law of Attraction is.
Think of an object, anything. Now imagine that it is in front of you, notice all the details, color, texture, shape as if it is right in front of you, even holding it if possible. Now let those thoughts go and attract that object into your life. Within 24 hours that object will somehow show up in your life. For me it was a black funky comfy chair and it was at the book store less than an hour after I did this little experiment.
This is so important. It is time to get a Journal. Go find the perfect one, one that makes you happy and feels great to you. Also find a pen that you love to write with and keep it with your journal. Start your entries with the experiment above, write down what happened and where you found the object that you attracted and how it felt, were you surprised or did you expect it. Write down what you think that potential is if you can attract a single object so easily what else can you attract into your life??
Your Journal will be used for many things and this is just the beginning. This will be and should be a fun journey to your happiness.
If writing isn’t something that you enjoy then by all means type it out and print it and put it in a binder, just make it a great binder, decorate the outside, make it your very own. Like I said this should be fun not a burden. If it feels good then do it that is what happiness is all about. There will be work but it should be fun and freeing not boring and tiring.
Defining your goals
Do you know what makes you happy? If you do that is great you are ahead of the game. If you don’t here are some great ways to remember what makes you happy. You may think that you never knew what it was and I am here to tell you that you do know, you might not remember but you know. It is in there somewhere and I am here to help you get it back on the surface, dig it out and make it what you are all about again. So hang on here we go.
You can use one of these or all of them. I am putting a few down because not all people relate to the same ways of doing things so here are some options.
What did you love to do when you were a child? Were you horse crazy? Did you love baseball? Did you want to be a teacher or a Fireman? You remember what made you happy and you were proud of. That is a clue of what your dreams were and somehow life got you sidetracked and you lost those dreams. Maybe get out some old photo albums of you when you were a kid and remember who you were then and compare it to who you are now. Are you the person that you wanted to be? Ask a parent what you used to dream about. Some of us have gotten so involved in our lives now that we have lost that kid inside of us. That kid can tell us a lot about our dreams because kids don’t have limiting beliefs like we get as we grow and take them on.
Finding the opposite:
Make a list of the things in your life that you are not happy with. What don’t you want? This can be everything, just work, just relationships…. It is up to you to find what you want to change. When you are done with this list go through and for each thing that you don’t want write down the opposite and that will be what you do want.
Simply, What brings you joy?
What do you do that you could do all day and it feels good? Do you feel this way when you are playing with your kids? Golfing? Caring for others? Flying an airplane? If you have something that you like to do and when you are doing it time stands still and you lose yourself in it that is most likely a passion of yours and a dream that you have.
Now that you have found your dreams again it is time to get specific with them. Write them down. All of them and take them in.
Your Ideal Day
Get out your journal and write down what your perfect day would look like. Do this in the present tense and use lots of details. This needs to be something that another person could read, if you permit them to, and could picture exactly what you are. Lots of details. This is your day, your perfect day so don’t skimp on what you want. What kind of house do you live in? How much money do you make? Etc…. This is your dream make it count. This day can be constantly changed to make it more of what you want. Don’t be afraid to rewrite this several times and as you reach your goals create new and better ones. Basically this is a never ending assignment just like your life is journey of goals that bring you more and more happiness.
This is a great journal entry to come back to often to remind you of what your life is transforming into. The more clearly you see it the more you will attract it.
How your Subconscious works
Your mind is made of two parts, your conscious and your subconscious. Your conscious mind is what you are aware of. You have thousands of conscious thoughts per day. Your subconscious picks up everything and controls the systems in your body. It works with your conscious mind and dictates your decisions and choices based on your beliefs. It remembers everything that you have ever seen, tasted, smelled, touched, heard or emotionally felt. For instance if you got an F on a test and your Mom told you that it was ok because you tried your best and just are not as smart as the others you store that in your subconscious and when you are looking for excuses for why things are not going your way, your subconscious remembers that you are not as smart as others. If you heard your parents say that life is a struggle and you have to work hard to get anywhere in this world you internalize that in your subconscious mind and it is used to make choices when you are faced with them through your beliefs and emotions. So if something looks to good to be true you chose to steer clear of it because you believe that you have to work hard to get to the top.
In order to attract what you want into your life you have to change these ingrained beliefs that have been put into your subconscious over a life time.
Your subconscious mind will internalize what ever you program into it. So your next assignment is creating affirmations. These are goals that you will put into your subconscious. It sounds hard but like everything in the universe it is very easy and if you follow these steps you will be on your way to fully understanding and using the Law of Attraction.
Affirmations, how to create and use them
Now that you have your dreams and goals defined it is time to put them to work for you. First write down your goal as if it has already happened.
Example, I Michelle am so happy and grateful now that I am going to Disneyworld and have $5000 spending money to take and enjoy spending with my family.
You write down each goal like that. Also keep the written goals positive. Don’t write down I want to get out of debt, write down I want to be financially free, What ever you are thinking about you are bringing into your life so think about what you really want, financial freedom. Think skinny not lose fat. If you are confused about what goal to start with you can get specific by writing a goal for each aspect of your life.
Physical, Emotional, Relational, Career and Spiritual. This is a good guide to keep it simple and to move on o the next goal in that category easily.
Now you are ready to use these affirmations. If I stress nothing else be consistent with this daily. Read each goal one at a time aloud and then close your eyes and imagine the end result.
Example, I would imagine myself with my family at DW spending my $5000 on great food, gifts, experiences with my family. I would feel it like is happening right now. How great it is to have the money to spend and not worry about how much we have left. How happy the kids are having so much fun.
Feel the emotions that come with that goal being done. Imagine yourself in that thin body, on that plane to Europe, doing the work in your dream job. Don’t worry about how it is going to happen just focus on the end result and then let go of it and allow the universe, The Law of Attraction, to start working to bring that to you.
At first you are going to think that your goals are impossible and that is why it is so important to keep doing the affirmations every day when you wake up and before you put your head on the pillow to sleep at night. You are reprogramming your subconscious to believe that these things are already a reality so you will start to bring about these goals on your life. Putting new beliefs into your subconscious mind.
Soon you will notice new opportunities coming into view and new people into your life that have the same out look that you now have. Your life will begin to form around these new goals and beliefs that you are programming into your mind.
*Another great way to get these goals instilled in your subconscious even faster is to write them down several times per affirmation session. For many of us writing something down and seeing it in our own writing makes it that much more programmed.
These affirmations can begin to take in as little as a day or two or as long as a month. Just keep up with them and you will see great result and changes in your life.
Just remember that what you focus on and think about your bring about into your life. So when you think or say the following, Don’t, No, Can’t and Not. Change it to what you really want. If you think No I can’t do that you are right so instead think or say Yes I can do something else. I don’t want that, I do want that. Ask yourself what do you really want and turn that into an affirmation. It is that easy!
Gratitude and how to use it to attract what you want.
This is a great part of the LOA. As I have explained already what you put your energy towards, think about and talk about is what you draw to you, so being grateful is a great way to do this. When you are grateful for things that are already in your life you will bring more good things. For example when you are grateful for the money that you already have you will attract more of the same, more money. This can work in all aspects of your life. If you are getting frustrated about someone or something in your life stop yourself and think about why you are grateful for it instead, this will really help shift your thoughts.
One way to remember this great exercise is to find an item that you will be forced to, through your daily routine, see and touch. Some have used a rock that they put in their pocket. I like to use the phone; every time I put the phone down after talking to someone I focus on something or someone that I am grateful for. The goal is to be in an attitude of gratitude all the time. You can come up with your own way of remembering this.
Everyone has things and people to be grateful for so start being thankful right this minute. Now would be a good time to write someone a thank you note. Which brings me to another great exercise in Gratitude. Once a week write a few thank you notes and send them out. They can be for your Mom for the obvious or the waitress that was great with you and your client at a business lunch. Just get them out there. What comes around goes around the more gratitude you put out them more you will get back.
This is also a great way to recocognize the great things that you have in your life that you might be over looking. Sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in all the drama and negativity and that will just bring more of the same. Try to see the good in everything, a lesson learned in a bad situation, a good trait in someone that is on your nerves. This is a process so just keep it up and things will start to change.
Realizing your goals through the LOA
Once you start to reprogram your subconscious mind and see even the smallest results from this new way of thinking it will be the beginning of bigger and better for you.
You can then take what you have learned and seen the results of and move on to something a bit bigger. Maybe you attracted a new job that is going to bring you way more joy than the last one and that was a goal that you attracted through this process now move on to something bigger like… I am so happy and grateful now that I am the manager at such and such job, or… you are the owner of the new store across town.
As you can see your goals will become limitless and the sooner you believe that the sooner your whole life will change and you will be living your dreams every day.
